Aron's Priorities

Protecting our Environment:

Building the infrastructure needed to combat climate change requires us to mine the ore we need for batteries, solar panels, wind turbines, electric vehicles, etc. We can continue to support and strengthen mining and solar panel manufacturing operations that we already have while expanding to processing our ore, building iron-air batteries, and everything else in between. All of which can be done safely while providing good paying jobs to support our economy as well as protecting our water and other natural resources. We also need to streamline and speed up the permitting process to build green infrastructure and make climate friendly goods and services more affordable to consumers.

Educating our Children

Trying to address the teacher shortage by lowering the standards to be a teacher does not work and further degrades the quality of education students receive.. We need to fully fund education so that schools can afford the staffing and resources students deserve regardless of zip code without relying on highly regressive property taxes that are making it difficult for many to stay in their homes. All school employees, whether it is teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, or kitchen and office staff help provide a quality education, and they deserve good pay, access to affordable healthcare, and a comfortable retirement.

Ensuring Equality for All

To me, this means providing the maximum amount of freedom to the maximum number of people, and has multiple applications. It means freedom isn’t limited because of race, religion, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation. It means everyone has affordable access to the goods services they need, whether it is housing, healthcare, education, transportation infrastructure, paid family leave, or childcare. It means that politicians aren’t infringing on these freedoms, such as choosing which books should or shouldn’t be in libraries, or making reproductive and gender affirming healthcare decisions that should be made by individuals with their healthcare providers. I want to make sure I represent everyone, regardless of who you are, because that is what it means to be a representative.

Prioritizing our Workers

I am a proud union member and a strong advocate for worker rights. Making sure workers have good paying jobs with good benefits is essential to a healthy economy. They not only help attract and keep workers doing important jobs, they help support local businesses and attract professionals communities need, such as engineers, healthcare providers, law enforcement officers, teachers, and many more. Everyone should be able to thrive without having to work multiple jobs to make ends meet.
